What's New in the 2021 Ford Bronco?

The Ford Bronco took a two-decade hiatus, and now, many years later, it is back all-new in 2021. An off-road beast with minimal or no competition, the Bronco looks to dominate the trails in Lompoc, and it has new tools to help it accomplish the task. The first addition is that the Bronco will now offer a four-door Bronco. It will have detachable doors, roofs, and windows to help you enjoy your trail experience. The Ford Bronco will also introduce a new trim. The Badlands-based First Edition will only have 3,500 units made and even fewer units offered for Nipomo drivers. Finally, the Bronco introduces a smaller sibling, the Bronco Sport. Visit Santa Maria Ford in Santa Maria for more information on the Bronco Sport.

Performance and Efficiency

The new Ford Bronco will be available with two engine options, two transmission options, and only one drive train - all 4WD. The standard engine in the Bronco will be the 2.3L turbocharged I4 making 270 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. It will be offered with a 10-speed automatic gearbox and a 7-speed manual. The 7-speed manual, which is only available with the standard engine, will offer six speeds+crawl. If you are a V6 enthusiast, the optional engine in the 2021 Ford Bronco will be a 2.7L turbocharged V6 making 310 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. The V6 is generally a better option, with it being much quicker and more adept at getting over any terrain along the Central Coast.

Interior Design

The new Ford Bronco will be available with both two-door and four-door body styles. Both body styles are practical and offer ample seating space for both front and rear passengers. However, for maximum practicality, the four-door Bronco is preferred. It offers 35.6 cubic feet behind the second row and 77.6 cubic feet with the second row collapsed. You will also have the standard 8-inch display along with a 6.5-inch digital instrument cluster. On the higher trims, the Bronco offers a larger 12-inch screen. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard in the 2021 Ford Bronco.

Off-Road Capability

The new Ford Bronco is an excellent off-road vehicle. It has many features that help it excel beyond the pavement. The first would be the all-terrain tires which you will find in the Badlands and Wildtrak trims. These two off-road specialists will also offer two types of transfer cases along with both front and rear locking differentials. The new Ford Bronco will have the terrain management system, which they have dubbed as the GOAT. The Go Over Any Terrain management system comes with several modes, including Normal, Eco, Slippery, Sand, Sport, Baja, Rock Crawl, and Mud. All you have to do is select the drive mode you need, and the Bronco automatically adjusts the settings. With the GOAT system, even the non-seasoned off-roaders can enjoy the trails. Also, the Ford Bronco will offer a high-speed Trail Turn Assist system. This system pulls the inside rear brake to adjust (tighten) the turning radius, even at high speeds.
